what does it mean to be a american?

To be an American to me means that I am free,that i can do and say what i want. That there is know limits to my imagination and don't have to care about what anyone have to say about it. That when I grow up I can be whatever I want if i worked hard at it, And that i am offered the best education that i can possibly get . It means that I can say "The Pledge of Allegiance" and that I can vote for who ever i want. I can be any race or religion i want and know that i can work with others because everyone is allowed an equal opportunity.To me america is the place were anything is possible, But also it means most of all to be free and to be proud that I live in the United States of America.

1st amendment

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

This is the most important because If it weren’t for this amendment, America wouldn’t be itself. this is what makes america, america. freedom of speech, religion, and assemble.

"Think before you speaak," I strongly agree with is quote because thinking before we speak is benefits to us .If people dont think before they speak everything  say will be foolish, or have no real meaning. We can speak with intention and not just say things to get attention. Thats why I agree with "thinking before you speak."

• The Declaration Of Independence was successful because, it gave freedom to the United States from rule of Great Britain, and also inspired other countries to fight for their freedom as well. It was a doucement that declared the 13 colonies that was under the british rule freedom, social and as well politcal.
• The Declaration Of Independence was a failure because, The result was the startof the war with England and the siphoning off of valuable manpower and resources to fight their loosing war in America, and interfered the cause of the France revolution.

I think what it says to a country that supports columbus day is, they commemorate the discovery of America by Christopher Columbus. Columbus Day celebrates the beginning of cultural exchange between America and Europe. when countries celebrate columbus day its like they are thanking the discovery of America. In which it have been celebrated for a long time so its like a tradition.
