Lap 9

The two songs I picked to compare are, "Shirley Verrett sings Oh Freedom" and "I have a dream" by Common. Both these songs talks about freedom and what it is. But in "I have a dream" common is more focused on how bad the world is messed up and how it can be changed or become better,  and one day it will get worked out. Shirley mostly focuses on  how she wont be a slave (over her dead body.) she wont all the bad things in the world to stop. Also the two songs are very different because Shirley sings in alto and there are hand played instrument. Common raps in the song and use have auto tunes for his instruments. Both songs prove a point in real life, that the world need to change, no more violence and freedom!
